Liverpool transfer news and rumours: Reds set for cash windfall from Joe Allen sale?

PLUS: Sadio Mane is out for the season and Jurgen Klopp has urged his side to reinvent themselves for the run-in

Liverpool will receive a cash windfall of £500,000 from the sale of Joe Allen to Stoke City – if the Potters finish in the top 10 of the Premier League.

That is according to The Telegraph, who say Stoke will fork out an extra chunk of money should they secure a top-half finish.

The Welshman made the switch from Merseyside to Staffordshire last summer in a deal worth £13million.

He has impressed with his new club this season, with boss Mark Hughes backing him to make a big impression when Stoke host his former employers this afternoon.

“We have to be a real challenge for them. We can be this. That is how most of the teams are playing against us – to defend as good as possible and then use the situations to create with this.
