Neymar could miss El Clasico after referee reported Barcelona star’s sarcastic clapping after red card
The Brazil star was sent off in his side’s 2-0 defeat by Malaga on Saturday
Barcelona could be without Neymar for the second La Liga El Clasico of the season later this month.
The Brazil star was sent off in his side’s 2-0 defeat by Malaga on Saturday and will definitely miss next week’s home clash with Real Sociedad.
But as he left the field, he applauded the fourth official, and the referee mentioned the incident in his report.
It read: “The postgame report said: “The player Neymar Da Silva Santos J, after being sent off, when he was entering the tunnel, and [sarcastically] applauded the fourth official.”
A further one-game ban would see him miss the game against the league leaders on April 23.
Neymar had been booked for fiddling with his boots in order to delay a Malaga free kick before earning a second caution for a late challenge on Diego Llorente.
Barcelona missed out on the chance to overtake their rivals after Zinedine Zidane’s men had drawn with city rivals Atletico earlier in the day.
